Six villages along the Maas around Wanssum

The starting point of this route is in Wanssum. From here you cycle along the Maas to Blitterswijck and then on to Meerlo. The village of Meerlo is intersected by the meandering Groote Moolenbeek. You then cycle through Oostrum to Venray and further in the direction of Maarhees and Geijsteren. You cycle along the Boshuizenbergen forest area and the Geijsteren estate. The estate is a nature reserve of about 700 hectares west of the village of Geijsteren. You cycle back to Café van Wieren via the village of Geijsteren. At the café in the harbor you can enjoy a snack and a drink. You're probably ready for that after your bike ride to get a little new energy. Oostrum is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites of Mary in the Netherlands.
