The starting point of this route is in Wanssum. From here you cycle along the Maas to Blitterswijck and then on to Meerlo. The village of Meerlo is bisected by the meandering Groote Moolenbeek. You then cycle through Oostrum to Venray and further in the direction of Maarhees and Geijsteren. You will cycle along the Boshuizenbergen forest area and the Geijsteren estate. The estate is a nature reserve of about 700 hectares west of the village of Geijsteren. Via the village of Geijsteren you cycle back to Café van Wieren. You can enjoy a snack and a drink at the cafe in the harbor. You are probably ready for that after your bike ride to gain some new energy. Oostrum is one of the oldest pilgrimage places of Mary in the Netherlands.

Cafe van Wieren is beautifully situated on the edge of Wanssum. Park your car in the spacious parking lot next to the cafe and set off through the green landscape on the banks of the Maas. The harbor was constructed in 1963 at the previously constructed industrial harbour. A stone's throw from the cafe you will find an old Maasarm and the Geijsterse woods that you can explore. Do you fancy a tasty snack and a drink? Then you can go to the terrace at the cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee with cake or a tasty meal to gain new energy during or after a bike ride or a walk. In the summer season the cafe is open every day and out of season you can go here from Friday to Sunday.
