Your route starts at Sprakel food & drinks. Discover the Boerskotten forest area, a beautiful natural forest with small meadows, hedgerows and fields with herbs. Dead trees are left behind so that mushrooms, mosses and plants grow on them. Thanks to wildlife tunnels and an ecoduct, the animals are not hindered in their walk through the A1. The Hague forest used to be a production forest, but through the work of Natuurmonumenten it has been transformed into a more natural forest with more deciduous trees. There are no fewer than 5 species of woodpeckers! The Lonneker Mill was built in the years 1850-1851 as a belt mill, it is the only Dutch brick mill whose brick hull is covered with reeds. The Poortbulten Arboretum is designed in a park-like manner with approximately 2,500 native and exotic trees and shrubs.

This mill was built here in 1851 as a replacement for an old mill that burned down in 1847. At the beginning of the 20th century, the mill fell into disrepair, but after the First World War, the mill was restored. After that, the mill was refurbished several times to keep the mill running smoothly.
