Description

This route runs through the area around Eibergen and the Hambroekplas. The Mallumse Molen on the Berkel river used to consist of a corn mill and oil mill, which burned down in the eighteenth century and were rebuilt. The oil mill was demolished in 1917, but the grist/hulling mill can still be seen. On the other side of the street is the Muldershuis, dating from 1753. The Needse Berg is a moraine that was formed about 150,000 years ago during the penultimate ice age. Among other things, a jaw fragment of a forest elephant was found here, as you learn with the Geological Nature Trail. Nice to take a break during your cycle route, it's only a short walk.
