With approximately 160 inhabitants and city rights since 1344, Bronkhorst is the smallest town in the Netherlands. It has more of the appearance of a picturesque village, with authentic farms and a beautiful location in the middle of farmlands. Original coats of arms hang in the chapel and the foundations of the former castle can still be found on the castle hill. Many people call the Achterhoek landscape one of backstage: every few hundred meters the region looks different. This is particularly visible on the cycle route between Wichmond and Toldijk. Get off at Café Restaurant Den Bremer in Toldijk! The IJssel is one of the most beautiful rivers in the country. A beautiful cycle path has been constructed over the dikes along the water.
