Description
Northeast Groningen has a lot to offer cyclists: a wide polder landscape, long straight waterways, meadows and picturesque villages. But don't forget the terps. Just like in Friesland, many farms, churches and entire villages were built on elevations in Groningen in the past. So there is plenty to see in this sparsely populated and special area. The route is easy to follow from Hotel Ekamper, the northernmost hotel on the mainland. This atmospheric hotel has a brown café and a restaurant where you can enjoy both a simple meal and a luxurious dinner. The rooms are equipped with all modern conveniences, so you can relax after a long bike ride or walk.
