Description
Water is the main theme of this bike tour. You make a beautiful trip around the various meadows and you visit the iconic Giethoorn. The starting point of this route is Cafe Restaurant Wapen van Utrecht, which is located in a water-rich nature reserve. The perfect environment for cycling! At Sint-Jansklooster it is advisable to visit the visitor center of the Wieden. There you will learn a lot about the beautiful nature reserve and you can take a tour of the various meadows. During this route you will get to know the Wieden. It used to be an excavated Fen area. Now it is a lake and swamp area. Together with the Weerribben, the Wieden forms the Weerribben-Wieden nature park. Enjoy this nice route!
