Cycling through the Strabrechtse Heide and the Leenderheide

From Geldrop you will make a beautiful bike ride through vast forests and heathlands. First you will ride through the Molenheide: this former heathland was reclaimed just before the Second World War as a work creation project. A little later you will ride straight through the Strabrechtse Heide. More than three hundred sheep graze on this vast heathland, with a bit of luck you will come across the shepherd and his flock near the path. Via Someren you will cycle further to the Somerense Heide. On the estate de Vroolijke Jager you will pass a farm from 1831 where a war memorial has been placed. You will pass Sterksel and Leende, two beautiful characteristic Brabant villages. The next large nature reserve on your route is the Leenderheide. Enjoy the peace and quiet here at your leisure, before you ride back to Kaffee Peijnenburg & Hotel Nijver.
