Description
Your route starts at Wandelpark. From here, you'll cycle a lovely loop through the Leenderbos Forestry and the charming villages in the surrounding area. In Budel, you'll discover the famous Teuten, traders who made their fortune abroad, and their famous houses. These 17th-century houses are characterized by the curved and flared gables of the Gelderland style. The prominent Schepenhuis (Aldermen's House) is a beautiful town hall dating from 1772. The ground floor of the building originally served as a covered market for yarn and butter. Near Valkenswaard, you'll be amazed by the beautiful nature of the Leenderbos. In Valkenswaard itself, you'll find several beautiful churches, such as St. Nicholas' Church. The historic hamlet of Leenderstrijp is also worth a visit; it boasts a beautiful, authentic village scene with its typical Brabant long-gabled farmhouses.
