Fortified towns and castles in the Bommelerwaard

There is a lot to see and experience with this tour. Along the Afdamde Maas it is wonderful to loosen up your legs while looking out over the meadows and characteristic farms. In the Bommelerwaard you pass a number of fortresses and beautiful locations, such as Landgoed Groenhoven in Bruchem and of course Zaltbommel. At Brakel you cross the Waal, further on you drive past Fort Vuren and through the historic heart of Gorinchem and through the beautiful old fortified town of Woudrichem. Back in the Bommelerwaard you will pass the beautiful, ancient Slot Loevestein. In the museum you will learn everything about Hugo de Groot's epic escape. You cycle back to Bed and Breakfast Oan d\\\'n Kikkerdijk over the dike along the Dammed Maas.
