Around Wijk bij Duurstede you drive through a region where several waterways meet. First you explore the Langbroek area. There used to be many swamp forests here. The reclamation via waterways and ditches created the characteristic landscape through which you now drive. On the outskirts of Amerongen you can take a look at the castle, which originally dates from 1680. You cross the Lower Rhine, after which you cross the Betuwe.
