This route starts in cozy Nijmegen, at CUBE Store Nijmegen! From here you drive through the beautiful De Millingerwaard nature reserve, where herds of Galloway cattle and Konik horses roam. You cycle past De Millinger Theetuin, which is definitely worth getting off. In Gendt you will discover the Poelwijk estate. The castle tower that can be seen from the road dates from the 15th century. Get off at listening point M14: De Kinkelenburg Castle. The earliest mention of this castle dates from 1403, when Johan van Ambe was endowed with a house and town with graves and cingel graves located as far as Bemmel. Near Doornenburg is M15: Doornenburg castle; one of the largest and best preserved castles in the Netherlands. The medieval outer castle and main castle are connected by a wooden bridge.
