Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Utrecht, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 114848
Provided by: Groots Genieten
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is a moraine formed during the Ice Age. This cycling route takes you past several country estates, such as Buitenplaats De Hoogt, a beautiful estate with a castle. The castle was expanded in 1925 to its current building. Huis Molenbosch was designed by Zocher in 1849 as an alternative to the failed project at Henschoten. A statue of Miss Annie on a bicycle now stands in front of the house. The exact age of Moersbergen is unknown, but despite numerous renovations, it still retains a medieval appearance. In the woods and in the villages along the way, you'll find lovely spots for a drink!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
