Stippelberg Tour from Bakel

Your route starts at the cozy Boscafé Grotels Genieten. From here you will discover the Stippelberg near Helmond in Brabant, a nature reserve of almost 1,000 hectares. Your route takes you in a large circle around Gemert. Peace dominates the region, which owes its name to old drifting dunes that lie like dots in the landscape. At the end of the nineteenth century, the heathland dominated here, but due to interventions in nature, the Douglas fir and the Japanese larch now also grow here. In the coniferous forest, Natuurmonumenten creates open spaces where native tree species such as the rowan, beech and summer oak can germinate. Dead trees are cleared away by nature and stimulate the growth of mushrooms, mosses and insects. Along the way you will also pass a real vineyard.
