Cycling along the most beautiful esdorpen in Drenthe

First, you cycle through a natural area to the village of Steenbergen, named after the "mountain of stones" just outside the village. Dolmen D01 consists of twelve supporting stones, six capstones, and two keystones. It is the northernmost dolmen in Drenthe. Then you cycle on to the esdorp (es village) of Norg. Like many other esdorpen (es villages) in Drenthe, this village has a rich history. It was mentioned in charters as early as the Middle Ages. Its exact age is unknown. You cycle through the Bunnerveen to the esdorp (es village) of Roden, where you can visit the manor house Landhuis Mensinge. Surrounding the manor house is a large forest.
