Walk Afferden and Maasduinen National Park

This walking route takes you through Afferden, Limburg, and the surrounding area. First, you'll walk through the small park surrounding the Eckeltse Beek stream, which flows into the Meuse River. The unpaved path follows the river downstream, offering beautiful views of the flowing water. You'll head northeast through the floodplains, towards Maasduinen National Park. You'll feel it in your calves as you approach this nature reserve, as you'll climb a small hill. Between junctions 58 and 64, you'll follow the famous Pieterpad. This path leads you across the Afferdse Heide, where you'll see several tranquil fens. In Afferden, you'll pass the St. Cosmas and Damianus Church. The 13th-century tower of this church is Romanesque. The route ends at Langstraat 2, Grand Cafe & Cafetaria.
