Tour of the Heldense Forests and Keverberg Castle

Through the Heldense Bossen you cross to Kessel, on the Maas. With an ice cream in hand from IJssalon Clevers Kessel, walk past Kasteel Keverberg, a uniquely restored ruin with a beautiful view over the Maas. Then you cycle past the nature reserve Gruise Epper. By the way, that should actually have been Grieze Upper: grey infertile sand, situated high up. The beautiful green landscape no longer reminds us of the infertile soil of the past. Further on you come through Waterbloem: a beautiful name for a nature reserve consisting of forest and marshes that are intersected by the Roggelse Beek.
