Description
During this route you will explore the beautiful nature of the Achterhoek. Enjoy the varied bocage landscape of fields, meadows and wooded banks. The starting point of this route is Natuurcamping't Scharvelt, which is within walking distance of the village of Haarlo. The campsite is hidden in the green. You cycle in a zigzagging direction towards Beltrum and Groenlo. You follow the contours of the meandering river Groenlose Slinge. This river has not always had the same course: it used to run through the city canal of Groenlo. Later it was moved along the north of Groenlo and in the 20th century it was channeled for more efficient water drainage.
