Bicycle route Haelen, Horn and Heythuysen

From Heythuysen, you cycle straight into the Leudal, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Limburg. It is wonderful cycling through the forests here. Via Nunhem, you cycle to the village of Neer. You cross the Neerbeek and ride along the meadows to Buggenum. Cycling through the Dorpsstraat, you see a number of beautiful monumental buildings, such as Huis Malborgh, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages. In neighboring Haelen, you get a taste of cultural history even more, as you pass Aldenghoor Castle. You cycle through the Leudal again for a short while, after which you can catch a glimpse of Horn Castle: one of the oldest intact Dutch ring-walled castles. You cycle through the Beegderheide nature reserve to Grathem, and a few kilometers further on, you explore Baexem. The route ends with a refreshment at Clevers Heythuysen Ice Cream Parlor.
