Description

Nature reserve Leudal, an authentic and green stream valley. The Leudal is intersected by the meandering Tungelroyse Beek, locally called the Leubeek. You will find an alternation of wet and dry forests. In addition to natural beauty, you will also see monumental buildings on the route, such as the Leumolen, a water mill on the Leubeek. This dates from 1558, but is probably a few centuries older. In 1773 the mill was rebuilt in stone. Then you drive a bit close to the Maas. Don't fall off your bike when you see Kasteel Horn: it is one of the oldest, still intact ring wall fortresses in the Netherlands! After another beautiful green loop you cycle back.
