Description
A little further on is the ferry that takes you across the Rhine, a little below Arnhem. On the other side you cycle along the vast floodplains. On the way you can stop in Duiven for a delicious ice cream at IJssalon La Calamita. At junction 65 you can see Huis Loowaard in the distance. This originally fifteenth-century building is now a beautiful castle farm. In Herwen you pass Huis Aerdt, from 1652. You cross the Rhine to Millingen and cycle along the edge of the Millingerwaard to the next ferry, which takes you to Kasteel Doornenburg. This beautiful castle is one of the largest and best preserved castles in the Netherlands. You also cycle through the historic part of the town of Huissen.
