The Mosselse Zand is a beautiful area characterized by openness and plains. It is the habitat of the heath and comma butterfly, but also of the uncle lark, nightjar and sand lizard. A little later you walk again through the coniferous forests around the Mosselse Zand. Heide plain is interspersed with shifting sand and afforestation. A beautiful landscape that is a feast for the eyes. You walk back towards Otterlo via the Apeldoornseweg. Turn right just before the hamlet of Roekel. You now walk a few kilometers through the forest again, until you arrive at Restaurant Zuiderzand. This is a wonderful place to take a rest. Enjoy homemade cakes, fresh coffee or a drink here. The restaurant is in fact close to your starting and finishing point: Holiday resort Het Lorkenbos.
