The Waal is one of the largest and fastest flowing rivers in the Netherlands. It is one of the busiest rivers in Europe. The Waal is also popularly known as the Whale. This cycle route leads you along the river to Nijmegen for the first 25 kilometers from your starting point in Ochten. At Lent you cross the bridge. The next 25 kilometers you also cycle largely along the Waal, but on the other side. The scenario is a typical Dutch water landscape.
