The route has no real starting point, the route can be started anywhere. However, the descriptions take Hoek van Holland as the starting point into account.

The Ottevanger ferry takes you from Hoek van Holland to the port of Rotterdam. From here you cycle across the Maasvlakte towards the beautiful Oostvoornse and Brielse lakes. Stop along the way at the Futureland information center and learn all about the Second Maasvlakte. Cross Lake Brielse with the bicycle foot ferry and then head to Rozenburg for ferry number 3. During the crossing, enjoy one of the busiest waterways in the world, the Nieuwe Waterweg. Once on the other side, you cycle through historic Maassluis towards the green polders and the recreational area of Midden Delfland. These polders are characterized by characteristic ferries.
Ferry to the Maasvlakte (between junctions 94 and 57)
The ferry to the Maasvlakte departs from the Berghaven of Hoek van Holland every two hours. Experience shipping on the Nieuwe Waterweg up close. Bicycles are allowed for free!
Bicycle foot ferry Brielle (between junctions 26 and 27)
Pont'Geuzenveer\\\' offers the opportunity for walkers and cyclists to cross halfway across the Brielse Meer.
During the months of April and September the ferry operates on weekends and public holidays from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and during the months of May to August it operates daily from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Ferry between Rozenburg and Maassluis (between junctions 28 and 40)
The ferry (from Blue Amigo) sails daily across the Nieuwe Waterweg between Maassluis and Rozenburg.
The ferry departs every 20 minutes from Maassluis and Rozenburg. During the summer holidays 2018
(July 9 to August 24) there are no rush hour boats.

Midden-Delfland ferry 'de Kwakel' (between junctions 66 and 71) Ferry De Kwakel sails daily from 1 May to the end of September from 11 a.m. In April and October, the De Kwakel ferry only operates on weekends. From the Bommeer in the Broekpolder the last departure is at 5:30 PM, at the Foppenplas 't Jachthuis at 5:40 PM and at the Kwakelweg at 5:45 PM. The ferry does not operate in bad weather.

You can cross from the Zouteveense to the Duifpolder with the manually operated self-service ferry 'De Trekschuit' (junction 62) . You drive a chain with a turning wheel and ensure that you pull yourself over. The chain drops to the bottom behind the ferry to prevent inconvenience to shipping traffic. Sailing times: April 1 – October 31. No costs.
