Tour of Nieuwkoopse Plassen and Leimuiden

This route is full of rivers, lakes and vast polders. From the North you can take a bicycle ferry for a unique crossing through the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. You look out over grasslands, reed collars and low peat swamps. Please note: you can only make this crossing in summer. From junction 57 you cycle along the Meije. On the shore you will see pollard willows, old farms and the almost sixty meter high white water tower from 1932. You cycle north through the polders. Via Rijnsaterwoude you arrive in Leimuiden. You can have a delicious meal here at Prik & Proost before you drive back into the polders. After junction 11 you pick up the towpath along the Amstel. Finally, you cycle along the Kromme Mijdrecht back to the parking lot in Noorden.
