Tour of Reeuwijkse Plassen: Gouda and Bodegraven

From the TOP you first cycle through the nature around the Reeuwijkse Plassen. These lakes were created in the eighteenth century by peat extraction. The peat was used, among others, by potteries and beer brewers in Gouda. In the old center of this town you will experience the atmosphere of a bygone era. You will pass right by the fifteenth-century Gothic St. John's Church. You cycle into the polders via Reeuwijk. Here you can enjoy views over grasslands and ditches. You will see many tree nurseries around Boskoop. After a delicious lunch at BUCK Bar Kitchen you cycle to Zwammerdam. On Kerkplein you will see the sixteenth-century village church. You cycle along the Oude Rijn to the next beautiful old town: Bodegraven. Here you see the St. Gallus Church from 1647 with its striking tower.
