The route starts at Brasserie Abshoven on the edge of Mustergeleen. The brasserie is located in an old church, a remnant of a monastery complex that stood empty for years. Enjoy a cup of coffee, a beer or a tasty snack here. A piece of pie should of course not be missed in Limburg. That will taste delicious after a lovely walk along the Geleenbeek! This area is beautiful to walk through. You will find pools and hedges along the Geleenbeek. Look for kingfishers and see how the jagged curves and natural banks are created. After you have walked a few kilometers through this beautiful nature reserve, you end the walk again at Brasserie Abshoven in Mustergeleen. Good to know: you can park for free in front of the door.

Eating in an old church may sound a bit crazy, but it is actually very special and surprising. Experience it for yourself at brasserie Abshoven on the outskirts of Munstergeleen. This church is the only remnant of a monastic complex that stood empty for years. The old elements of the church are beautifully combined with cozy furniture in this brasserie. This creates a special and cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a beer or something delicious from the kitchen. How about a piece of homemade pie, soup, sandwiches, salads or a hot meal for dinner? That will certainly taste after a good bike ride or a walk. When the weather is nice, you can settle down on the terrace behind the church. You can enjoy a snack and a drink on the terrace with a view of the Absbroekbos. The terrace is sheltered by a piece of ruins that remains from the monastery.
