Description

At the beginning of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug lies the Grebbeberg, a hill about 50 meters high where you can enjoy a lovely walk through the quiet forest - also with the kids! You mainly walk here under the canopy of beautiful large oaks. Forest plants such as foxglove and bracken grow between the trees. About halfway you come to the King's table. From this plateau you have a beautiful view of the Nederrijn, nature reserve De Blauwe Kamer and the Betuwe. It is not surprising that a monarch like Frederick V of the Palatinate liked to hold hunting parties here in the seventeenth century. Heimenberg is also located on this plateau: the remains of a ring rampart from the eighth century. A really historic place! The route starts and ends at't Paviljoen Rhenen (Bar/Lounge, Restaurant & Hotel).

For information; in this area it is forbidden for dogs.
