You start the route at Holiday home / Coffee and tea gift shop Hof't Sprakel.
You can leave the car here and you will also end up at this point. 

Culture route along the 6 Castles of the Twente with a unique stop at Castle Warmelo with beautiful sand sculptures to admire in the summer period in 3D from the beginning of May to the end of September.

You cycle through beautiful nature reserves with vast landscapes , with a varied stop along the beautiful castles of Twente.

In good and dry weather , a piece of Needse mountain is also included. This is also well worth it with beautiful views through the watchtower and then continues on the dirt road.

In bad weather you go from junction 30 de Venneriet and then left onto the Bergweg left again into the ring road junction Diepenheimseweg here you can also visit the mill if you want. From this point you follow the routes again.

If you want to skip Neede and want to shorten the route , go from junction 30 to 31 . Shortens the route.

If you want to go straight to the Castle Garden of Warmelo, take our Warmelo Cycle Route or  cycle the other way around and go from node 31 to 30.

Kasteel Wegdam

Wegdam was owned by the noble Van Coeverden family for centuries. It is first mentioned in 1400. At that time it was still an ordinary farm. It was not until Christoffel van Coeverden (- circa 1563) and his wife Hendrika van Haersolte built a nobleman's house on the Wegdam.

Kasteel Weldam

Around the start of the Eighty Years' War, the rectangular rear part of the house that still exists today was built on a square moated site. Not much is known about the building that must have stood before it.

The Nijenhuis (approximately 200 hectares) is located to the east of Diepenheim. The central part of the current house dates from 1662. In the 19th and early 20th century it was expanded with a total of four towers. The house is the core of an intact country estate. The character of the Nijenhuis estate is park-like: romantic footpaths along the Molenbeek, monumental tree groups and picturesque vistas determine the image.

You used to find the manor Pekkedam at the beginning of the driveway to Nijenhuis castle. There is hardly anything left of that nowadays. The villa that you find here now dates from 1898.

Kasteel Huis te Diepenheim

Kasteel Huis in Diepenheim is the oldest castle in Diepenheim. The house was built in 1648 by Berent Bentinck. Since 1925 the house has been owned by Baron de Vos van Steenwijk and his family. The estate has a total area of 180 ha and is freely accessible to hikers. The coat of arms of the Bentinck and Ittersum family with the year 1685 has been incorporated on the beautiful castle gate.

At the highest point of the Needse Berg you will find a wooden lookout tower. Climb this tower and admire the beautiful view of the surrounding area. From the highest point of the tower you can look out over the village of Neede and the mill, among other things. In clear weather you can even look much further to Eibergen, Rietmolen and Borculo.
