The Loosdrecht Lakes
The area is known as a water sports area and consists of various lakes that are separated from each other by dikes and islands. Originally, the Loosdrechtse Plassen were a peat area that was too swampy for agricultural purposes. To drain the area, ditches were dug to the Utrechtse Vecht. You cycle over these dikes during this route. Enjoy the wide view while the wind blows through your hair.
Tour around Hilversum
Hilversum is surrounded by beautiful nature reserves such as the Bussemer Heide and the Hoorneboegse Heide. A lovely green area to cycle through. You will also pass through the Spanderswoud country estate, where you will encounter a mixture of garden styles. In the autumn, this area is particularly rich in mushrooms, which makes for a beautiful sight. You end your route again at the parking lot in the centre of Wijdemeren.
