Walking route Geldrop

This walking route takes you through Geldrop and the Molenheide nature reserve. From the centre you walk to the Kleine Dommel. Here you can see the Geldropse Molen, which originally dates from the fifteenth century. In the nineteenth century, the textile industry emerged in Geldrop. In 1820, the mill was built into the wool factory. This building now houses the Geldrop Weaving Museum. A little later, you enter the Molenheide forest. From junction 16 to 65 you walk along the old cotton path that was used by workers who walked from neighbouring Mierlo to their work in the Geldrop factories. Back in Geldrop, you pass the castle with its English landscape garden. Further on is the Sint-Brigidakerk from 1891. The route ends at Kaffee Peijnenburg & Hotel Nijver.
