Discover the highest mound in the Netherlands, Hegebeintum! This route also leads you through the nice village of Oudebildtzijl and along the centuries-old Harsta State.
Hegebeintum
From your starting point at Ginnum you will quickly cycle to the Harsta State. It was built around the 17th century. Aemilius Josinus de Schepper became owner in 1762 and had a fence in rococo shapes placed on the dam of the moated site. Then you cycle through the village of Hegebeintum, on the highest mound in the Netherlands. There is a visitor center'Terp Hegebeintum\\\', where tickets are also available for guided tours to the twelfth-century Romanesque church.
Oudebildtzijl
The Kleilânsmole, a polder mill built in 1865, is an octagonal ground sailor. Here you can admire the striking Juliana Church from 1806. A bell was hung in the tower after the birth of Princess Juliana in 1909. You cycle back in the shelter of the sea wall.
