This route takes you from Veurne through a very varied landscape. Enjoy the sea view along the way, climb through dunes and tour through charming villages inland. In every town you will find different sights that are worth seeing. So there is plenty to discover during this tour.
From museum to museum
Veurne is the starting point of this route. Here you can take a look at the Bakery Museum or the'Free Fatherland\\' museum where you can learn more about the last part of unoccupied Belgium during the First World War. Here you experience the story behind the front. After this cultural excursion it is time to get on your bike towards the coast. You will visit St-Idesbald, Koksijde and Oostduinkerke in succession. In St-Idesbald you will find the Paul Delvaux Museum. Get to know a large collection by this artist here. A little further on you can climb the highest dunes on the Belgian coast and cycle through the Doornpanne nature reserve.
Back to Veurne
Not enough of all the sights yet? Then visit the Navigo Fisheries Museum in Oostduinkerke. You then cycle further through the polder villages of Avekapelle and Steenkerke, among others. Ultimately you arrive back in Veurne at the point where you started your tour.
