From Veurne on the road along the coast

This route takes you from Veurne through a very varied landscape. Enjoy the view of the sea along the way, climb through dunes and tour through cozy villages in the interior. In each town you will find various sights that are worth seeing. So there is plenty to discover during this trip.

From museum to museum

Veurne is the starting point of this route. Here you can visit the Bakery Museum or the 'Vrij Vaderland' museum, where you can learn more about the last part of unoccupied Belgium during the First World War. Here you can experience the story behind the front. After this cultural excursion, it is time to get on your bike and head towards the coast. You will visit St-Idesbald, Koksijde and Oostduinkerke in succession. In St-Idesbald you will find the Paul Delvaux Museum. Here you can discover a large collection of this artist. A little further on you will climb the highest dunes of the Belgian coast and cycle through the Doornpanne nature reserve.

Not yet had enough of all the sights? Then visit the Navigo Fisheries Museum in Oostduinkerke. Then you cycle further through the polder villages of Avekapelle and Steenkerke. Finally you end up in Veurne again at the point where you started your trip.
