The beautiful coast of Walcheren

The coastline of Walcheren is a beautiful area for cycling. Get on the saddle and discover for yourself how beautiful the nature and coastal villages are here. The route also takes you through Middelburg.

Westkapelle Creek
From Zand Paviljoen Pier 7 you will be in nature in no time. You will cycle many kilometers through a mix of small plots of deciduous forest, meadows and of course dunes. There are also some beautiful villages on your route, such as Zoutelande where you can still admire the centuries-old St. Catherine's Church on the ring road. You will pass the Westkapelse Kreek that was created after the North Sea dike was destroyed in a bombing during the Second World War.

Middleburg
From the dike you have a beautiful view of the sea for a while, after which you cycle through Domburg. Get off here at Museum Marie Tak van Poortvliet. You pass Kasteel Westhove, further on you can get off at Terra Maris. In the Manteling you cycle through a unique forest area, at the Veerse Meer you come through Veere: a picturesque old town. Then you cycle through the polders of Walcheren to Middelburg. Another city worth seeing!
