The LF Cycling Club also wants to contribute to drawing more attention to the Death Wire from 14-18. Especially now that there is also an exhibition in the Achelse Kluis about the major explosion of the German ammunition trains at Hamont station in 1918. According to the ED, almost 30 municipalities are participating in this commemoration of the 350 km long electric border barrier in those years. The leader of a white crocus route to commemorate the death thread is the municipality of Maasmechelen, which will plant no fewer than 35,000 crocuses. At FKP 217 before the entrance to De Kluis you will find the first Death Wire reconstruction and upon returning after border post 217 at FKP 216 and between FKP 38 then on the Route for FKP 85 on the Weerterweg near the Smeetshof, so here a little further than the border cycling to also reconstruct the wire  can be viewed at this nature point. And even after FKP 17, a very nice memorial point was created, there at the border marker.

The Achelse Kluis has been a place where people settle for prayer and spirituality for centuries. Even today, there are still people who go here for peace and internalization. De Kluis is located on the border of North Brabant (NE) and North Limburg (BE) on the banks of the Warmbeek (BE) / Tongelreep (NE). The beer that is brewed in the Kluis is one of the few that can call itself Trappist beer, because there are only 11 beers that can bear this title.

This mill is also called the Molen van Nijs. It is a round stone belt mill that was built in 1903. The mill was decommissioned around 1960 and from then on the mill fell into disrepair. Nowadays the mill runs on a voluntary basis again.

De Tungelroyse beek

Tungeler Dorpsstraat
6005 PP Weert

The strongly meandering Tungelroyse Beek flows through the area. This brook is the artery of the water management of Central Limburg. It has its source on the border area with Belgium. and flows under the name Neerbeek into the Maas. In 1999, one of the largest stream restoration operations in the Netherlands was started; the remediation and redevelopment of the Tungelroyse brook. Over a total length of 30 kilometers, work was done in phases to restore the original shape over a 12-year period. The tortuous shape is called meandering. The soil was cleared of contamination and improvements were made for better habitability for flora and fauna. In addition, much attention was paid to the recreational possibilities of the Tungelroyse brook. As a result, the Tungelroyse Beek has become a true paradise.

On the edge of the Weerter church village of Tungelroy, somewhat hidden from the Tungeler Dorpsstraat, is the round stone Sint-Anna Mill. In 1875 the belt mill was built on the Tungeler Dorpsstraat. The mill replaced two older water mills along the Tungelroyse brook. The inside of the mill was restored in 1967 and then the mill was largely restored again in 2009-2011. The mill runs and grinds regularly through the efforts of volunteer millers. The mill exhibits old miller's tools and grain-building equipment.
