Starting point: Gouda
The first part of the route takes you through Gouda, a pleasant city with medieval streets and a historic city center.
Reeuwijkse Plassen
During this route you walk straight through the Reeuwijkse Plassen. The Reeuwijkse Plassen consist of thirteen smaller lakes between Bodegraven and Gouda. Narrow roads separate the originally peat-treated lakes. The lakes all have a rectangular shape, in which the former division of the peat lands from the time of the'Great Reclamation\\\' can still be recognized. During the walk you have varying views of the lakes and the islands located within them.
Gouda Hout
The last part of the walk takes you through the Goudse Hout nature reserve, east of Gouda. It is a characteristic open peat meadow area, to which bushes have been added and which is intersected by cycling and walking paths. The area is nicely varied due to the alternation of forest plots, grasslands and ponds. A nice place to end your walk.
