Country house
Rinia State
The neoclassical country house was built in 1843 to a design by Thomas A. Romein. The building has a higher middle section with a tympanum, Doric pilasters and a three-sided extension of the facade (garden room). Round windows with stained glass have been installed in the side walls of the central section. The owner was Geertruida Wilhelmina Godarda Johanna Rinia van Nauta. In the neighborhood, relatives lived on Kippenburg, Lycklamabos and Beuckenswijk. The next owners were Octavia van Swinderen, Anne Willemine Star Numan and Catharina Cornelia Star Numan. The garden was probably laid out by Lucas Roodbaard. The house, the stable, the park and the garden wall are national monuments.
