Tour of Deurnsche Peel: De Bult and Paardekop

Your route starts at Molen Nooit Gedacht in Merselo. This beautiful old mill was built in 1850 and equipped for grinding grain and oak bark (eek). The mill caught fire twice, but the mill was made ready to grind again both times. This route takes you past the Deurnsche Peel raised bog area. You will discover the De Bult sub-area and the highest point of De Peel: De Paardekop. The area is varied and varied, with higher and lower, dry and moist heathlands, forests, fens and water. The name'De Paardekop\\\' comes from a legend about a battle that took place in the area between horsemen. Many horse skulls are said to have been found in this area.
