Thanks to the beautiful mix of old farms, meadows and hedgerows, Nunspeet has been an inspiring environment for painters for over a century. Besides being beautiful, the Gelderse Vallei is also quiet. Ideal for cycling through at your leisure. In the polder you drive past the monument that was erected for the crew members of the Wellington that crashed here in 1943. In Doornspijk you can see some beautiful old farms. You will also pass the nineteenth-century country estate of Klarenbeek.

Tongeren estate
On the edge of the Veluwe you pass the Museum of the Horse Artillery Corps, where you will learn everything about the history of this corps. A little later you cycle across the Tongeren Estate, one of the largest private estates in the Netherlands. Here you will find an old, small-scale cultural landscape. In the forests it is wonderful to travel for miles among the fragrant conifers. How nice and quiet it is on the Veluwe! The route ends at Landgoedhotel Villa Vennendal: time for a terrace!
