Cycle route Garderen and Kootwijkerzand

This versatile route takes you across the Veluwe. You can fully enjoy the natural beauty, but also the cultural history. First you cycle through Garderen and Ouwendorp, in the agricultural countryside you pass some beautiful old farms. Then you cycle into the woods. Enjoy the tranquility and the fragrant conifers at your leisure! After a few kilometers your view changes when you drive onto the vast heath and drift sand fields of Boswachterij Kootwijk. In the middle of this nature reserve you will come across Radio Kootwijk. This transmitter was built in the 1920s for radio telegraphic contact with the then Dutch East Indies. The area around the former transmitter is a protected village view. You cycle back to TopParken - Resort Veluwe via the Stroese Zand and the Boeschoter Bos.
