8 Kastelen route

This tour is the oldest signposted cycle route in the Netherlands. Already invented in 1913 by the VVV in Vorden. The cycle route takes you past castles and country estates, over country estates and heathland, through forests, past picturesque meadows and fields and you will come across all kinds of surprising pieces of nature and culture. You will pass Vorden Castle and the beautiful Landgoed de Wiersse, among other things.

Four of the castles and estates offer the opportunity to get acquainted with them. The stories surrounding the castles are described in a brochure that is available at the VVV Vorden, which is also the starting point of the route.
